For a time, it seemed like any wrestler released by WWE would eventually join AEW. Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, and Adam Copeland made the transition, along with many others.
However, Tony Khan's recent comments suggest that AEW is no longer content to be the default destination for ex WWE stars.
